All of our custom pieces are made in house by the person who answered your phone call, text message, or your email to discuss your special piece ensuring the aspects important to you are included throughout the build and finished piece.

By selecting UWD, you support a local business who have been delivering quality products to customers for many years. So you can rest assured you’ll get a quality piece.    

We support Australian business by selecting our suppliers of materials carefully, preferring local timber suppliers, wherever possible, who supply sustainably sourced new growth timber or reclaimed materials. We also donate 5 trees per order to One Tree Planted.

We invoice from Xero which allows you to pay via EFT, credit card payments via Stripe, Paypal and Paypal Pay in 4.

Our quotes are valid for 30 days due to the ever changing nature of raw materials; however, feel free to reach out when you are ready to proceed and we can confirm pricing at that time.

Due to the nature of timber and timber grain, some natural variations will occur in our products. We do our best to work to your specifications should you have any special requirements and always maintain a high-quality standard so rest assured you will get an exceptional product.

We work with recycled and reclaimed timbers, and sustainably sourced new timbers depending on application and customer preference.  We regularly work with, but are not limited to Tasmanian Oak, Victorian Ash, Messmate, Blackbutt, Spotted Gum, USA White Ash and Red Gum. We aren’t limited to these timbers and can source a wide range via our suppliers. Please note, however, that we cannot work with treated pine (etc.)

We typically don’t restore pieces, as our focus is on building new pieces.

UWD are custom furniture makers and typically don’t have the scope to machine materials for external customers.

Lead time on furniture orders can be 8-16 weeks. This gives us enough time to order timbers, prepare them, let the timber settle, and produce your special piece without compromising on build quality.

We can deliver nationwide thanks to our carefully selected freight partners. Just let me know your postcode at the time of quoting and I’ll be able to provide an estimated freight quote for you.
